I recently took a natural light workshop and my friend Jessika was gracious enough to model for me for one of my assignments. These were shot midday, which as most photographers know can be quite a challenge. The light can be super harsh, but this workshop taught me how to work with it and embrace it. I was pretty pleased with the results. It doesn’t hurt to have a gorgeous model! 
Jaren’s mama and I had planned on doing a maternity shoot but he threw a wrench in our plans by arriving a month early! After spending a week in the NICU, Jaren came home and was an angel for his first photo shoot. He was a perfect sleepy baby and when he was awake he just chilled out.
Isn’t he adorable? I love little peanut babies and Jaren was definitely a peanut, weighing in at 5 lbs 5 oz. And how do you like his little faux hawk?

You met his mama, Jonna, now meet little Jaffrey. Or should I say not-so-little Jaffrey? He was a hefty 8 pounds 5.5 ounces at birth! Being NICU nurses, his mama and I are used to more of the tiny ones and anything over 8 pounds is considered a BIG baby! We shot these when he was 10 days old and he was already pretty alert and not wanting to sleep for us. I managed to get a few sleepy shots but he fought us most of the time.
